ABOUT THE DESIGN
A weaving of culture, history, and wisdom
Kwe is inspired by the beauty and cultural significance of the jingle dress dance, which symbolizes strength, resilience, and connection. “Kwe,” meaning “woman” in Anishinaabemowin, honors the vital role of women as nurturers, healers, and leaders. The pattern is based on the spiritual teachings of the jingle dress, a tradition originating from a vision of healing through dance. The jingles, made from metal cones, are considered carriers of healing energy, offering prayers for physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional healing. This pattern is a powerful tribute to women.
